Norway faces Brazil in World Cup round of 16 match
Erling Haaland was the hero for Norway as they produced their biggest result on the international stage by beating Brazil to reach the World Cup quarter-finals. The Manchester City striker broke the deadlock 11 minutes from time with a towering header, before adding another as the game ticked into injury time.
Brazil, who missed a golden chance to take the lead in the first half when Bruno Guimaraes had his penalty saved by Orjan Nyland, did get on the scoresheet when Neymar converted from the spot in second half stoppage-time, but that proved to be no more than a consolation as the wait for a sixth star continues.
Norway, meanwhile, have made history on their return to the global stage after a 28 year absence, reaching a World Cup quarter-final for the very first time and can low look forward to a showdown between the winners of the Mexico vs England clash which is due to get underway shortly.
