Kenyan truck driver found dead at Uganda border

A Kenyan truck driver has been found dead at Busitema checkpoint in Bulumbi sub-county, Busia district in eastern Uganda.
Samuel Kinywa Wangware, 35, a resident of Mathira, Kenya was found lying dead near his parked truck, registration number KAT 578T along the Tororo-Iganga highway on Saturday. He was on his way back to Kenya after delivering bags of hydrogen carbonate in Uganda capital, Kampala on June 7 according to documents found in his truck. Local authorities said they found no coronavirus certificate in the vehicle to indicate if the deceased tested for COVID-19 before crossing the borders.
Dr Willis Syongola, the acting Busia district health officer says that they have picked his samples and taken them for testing. Ismael Wesonga, the LC III chairperson Bulumbi sub-county says that the driver had spent three days at the checkpoint.
Emmanuel Ainebyoona, the ministry of Health spokesperson, says that the ministry has launched investigations into the death of the truck driver.
