Midwives Down Tools Over Lack of Covid-19 PPE in Zimbabwe

Midwives manning Sally Mugabe Hospital’s maternity ward have withdrawn their services over lack of Covid-19 Personal Protective Equipment, blaming the health minister and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga for alleged failure to listen to their concerns. Nurses and midwives in Zimbabwe continue to be on the front line fighting Covid-19 daily and providing essential health services. This puts them at high risk of contracting communicable diseases including Covid-19.
