Push to oust Kabila ally who heads DR Congo senate
A senator in the Democratic Republic of Congo has filed a petition for the dismissal of speaker Alexis Thambwe Mwamba.
Mr Thambwe Mwamba is an ally of former President Joseph Kabila.
Senator Valentin Gerengo of the Movement for the Liberation of Congo forwarded it to the senate office.
Senator Gerengo confirmed the authenticity of the petition to Actualite news website.
The Senate opens its extraordinary session this Tuesday.
