What does a new US president mean for Africa?

The world will be watching when Joe Biden is inaugurated as 46th president of the United States later.
His election victory in November made headlines across the continent, because – like it or not – what happens in America affects countries all around the world.
The US has troops stationed in various countries across Africa and our economies are increasingly intertwined through trade and investment.
The outgoing President, Donald Trump, didn’t always speak kindly of the continent. Did his policies serve Africa any better? And what of the new administration? What might President Biden mean for countries in Africa?
