Youths Role in Peace Building ,African Civic Society Peace Journey

Peace Journey Africa Civil Society General Manager Haileab Meresa said the role the youth have played in consolidating efforts in a bid to ensure peace and tranquility is of paramount significance.
In an exclusive interview with The Ethiopia Herald, Haileab said that coming up with coordinated efforts and taming the youth with peace values is imperative to ensure lasting peace and sustainable development via avoiding conflicts and havoc.
“It is high time to tame the youth with Pan African values than run after a single nation, to avoid conflict. The youth should be given a role to play in nation building and they need to be well-equipped with on how to resolve conflicts and sustain coexistences.
As African Civic Society Peace Journey has exerted in pitching the value of peace at the earlier years in spirit of Pan African-ism knowing that taming the youth with peace values, working with higher education institutes around the country and touring to other Africa nations for planting seedlings can be a pretty excellent weapon to hit the target.
Africa Union can have ample opportunity to get African states enlightened. To do this, conducting panel discussions on peace building efforts, couching the youth, who will take over the continent with its future, about the significance of peace, serenity and coexistence by means of either experience sharing podiums, seedling plantation processes and so forth, is an incomparable step to walk on.
