Africa: Covid-19 Death Toll Nears 99,000 Across Continent

Cape Town — As of February 16, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 3,763,067.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 98,946 and 3,304,256 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases – 1,492,909- and 48,094 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (478,595), Tunisia (223,549), Egypt (174,426), Ethiopia (147,825), and Nigeria (146,928).
