Alhaji Gimba Salihu Bako’s Daughter Abducted

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the daughter of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Gimba Salihu Bako, in Chiji community in Abaji Area Council. Alhaji Gimba, who was a chairmanship aspirant during the last area council election in Abaji, confirmed the abduction of his daughter, Hasiya Gimba, to our reporter yesterday. He said he received a phone call at about 02:30am on Monday from his in-law alerting him that his daughter had been kidnapped. He said the gunmen invaded his in-law’s house at Chiji village, two kilometres away from Abaji town, and whisked Hasiya away. According to him, the gunmen collected money from his in-law before they left the house, even as he said he was yet to establish contact with the kidnappers. When contacted, the spokesman of the FCT Police Command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, said the command was investigating the Abaji kidnap and would enusre that the victim is rescued unhurt.
