Is it time for French troops to leave Mali?
France has had troops all across the Sahel for years now.
They’ve been fighting a number of violent jihadist groups that have spread across the region.
Mali is at the centre of their operation, but some people in the country have had enough.
They want the French soldiers gone, even if insurgents are unlikely to lay down their weapons.
French President Emmanuel Macron says his country will “adjust” its military presence in the region.
But it remains unclear when or how that might happen.
So, the question remains: has the time come for Mali to wave French troops goodbye?
