‘The excitement is up on the roof’ for Nyege Nyege

As we’ve been reporting Uganda’s four-day Nyege Nyege music festival is finally under way, despite moves earlier this month by some parliamentarians to have it cancelled over claims of immorality.
So how is it going?
“The excitement is up in the roof,” festival-goer Zawedde Patricia Zoe told BBC Focus on Africa radio.
Music is being performed all through the day and night, on at least one of the festival’s four stages.
Set on the banks of the River Nile gives it “that wild-party-in-the-jungle feeling”, she added.
And as for Nyege Nyege’s Sodom and Gomorrah reputation?
“It’s just people getting together and having fun with each other,” Zawedde said.
