Uganda: City Lions Look for Redemption

City Lions can bounce back to winning ways when they meet Makerere University Business School (Mubs) today at Lugogo in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Lions started brilliantly by getting KHC Stallions’ scalp on the opening weekend and raced to two more wins to keep pace with the top sides Weatherhead and Wananchi.
Inspired by their creative youngster Brian Ofoyimungu, they beat Makerere University and Weatherhead Vikings too. “I am also happy with the opportunity to play for City Lions,” Ofoyimungu, who just sat his senior four examinations at Kakungulu Memorial School, said. “It is my first season but I am learning my teammates and hoping to do more for the club going forward.”
Worse form
They, however lost 4-1 to Wananchi last weekend to fall back to fourth on men’s log with nine points but Mubs are in worse form.
The university side, who have had a rude welcome on their return to the league after over 10 years away, have lost all five games, conceding 47 goals and scoring just once.
Their misery was compounded on Thursday when KHC Stallions beat them 12-0 but captain Michael Kyangire have taken their lessons on the chin.
They know it has to get worse before it gets better.
