Philippi: Baby killed when drunk driver ploughs into pedestrians

In a blink of an eye, a drunk driver has left a family devastated, after he drove into a group of pedestrians in Stock Road, Phillipi, Cape Town on Sunday 29 November – killing a baby, and seriously injuring four other people.

The tragedy was captured on camera. CCTV footage of a fast-moving white Toyota Avanza leaving the road and crashing into innocent pedestrians has been widely circulated on social media.

DRIVER ARRESTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING

Police confirmed to Cape Town Etc that four pedestrians were seriously injured and a baby was killed, and that A 27-year-old man has been arrested for culpable homicide and drunken driving.
